"Dad figured the stone blocks that covered the tomb for this boat had to weigh about 20 tons each."

"This boat was buried in its own tomb and unassembled. The pharaoh was supposed to be able to assemble it after this life and sail to heaven in it. It is a fairly recent discovery and they had put all the pieces together adding a few parts to replace those that were probably far too decomposed to use. But much of it is the original wood. Reminded me of what they have done in Norway with old Viking ships they have restored and set up in museums."
