Mission to Egypt

April 2000 - September 2001

Week of September 24, 2000

"We were invited to the home of another one of my students. She has just started to learn to cook. They have only been married one year, and so she was a bit nervous about how I would like what she fixed. Again it was served very beautifully. Egyptians like to make their food look attractive when they put it on the table."
Manal with abstract sculpture entitled "Yellow Bird."

"She is an art student at a university here. She is working on a master's degree in sculpture. When we went to their home we spent most of the time learning about their work and what they do. She likes to do portraits, especially in three dimensions. But her real specialty is abstract sculpture."

"Her husband is also an artist with an advanced degree and his
specialty is mosaics. We feel her husband will become a very famous artist before long. He is extremely talented."
Ramon, Nancy, and Manal with abstract relief.
