Mission to Egypt

April 2000 - September 2001

Week of April 23, 2000

"The donkey carts go by everyday selling their wares. I wonder how those little animals pull such heavy loads! One vendor comes by every morning
banging on his tanks of butane gas. That's what we use for cooking so every now and then we will have to buy one from him."

 The Wani family.

"We are giving the new member discussions to them."
"The pictures of the market where we shop are deceiving. They look better than they really are. I don't think there is anyway to adequately describe what its like to shop there. I never know what the price of the fresh produce is--they have no signs. I did pay 12 Egyptian pounds for a large avocado which is about $2 US. So I am sure they take advantage of me."
